Description
Carmignano DOCG – Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin is the flagship wine of Tenuta Castelvecchio, produced on the sunny slopes of the Medici hills of Carmignano. It is made mainly from Sangiovese grapes, with the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon and other red grape varieties, all hand-picked and carefully selected.
The wine ages for 12 months in oak barrels, with a 6-month period in Allier tonneaux, and completes its ageing in the bottlefor a further 6 months.
Only three years after the harvest can it bear the Riserva designation, a guarantee of complexity and longevity.
It has a deep ruby red colour, aromas of ripe black cherry, aromatic herbs, dried red flowers and balsamic notes, while on the palate it is smooth, balanced and well-structured.
Ideal with braised meats, stuffed meats and traditional Tuscan dishes.
It is recommended to uncork at least an hour before serving and serve at 18°C to fully appreciate its nuances.
