About us
The history of Tenuta Castelvecchio began in 1975, when Roberto Pinori, driven by a deep attachment to his land, purchased a farm, where the winery of the same name now stands, once owned by a noble Florentine family.
Motivated by the belief that wine was the liquid story of a place, a tradition and a family, Roberto carefully chose these lands. The rolling hills of Carmignano, in the heart of the Medici area, offered ideal sun exposure, a unique microclimate and extraordinarily fertile soils. In 1990, after having devotedly tended to the planting of the vineyards, the winery began its commercial activity.
Today, fifty years after its foundation, the history of Castelvecchio continues with the same passion in the hands of the second and third generations, represented by Roberto’s daughter Romina and his granddaughter Virginia. They share the same love for the land, the same artisanal care and the desire to innovate without ever betraying their roots.
The estate covers approximately 40 hectares, with 21 hectares of agricultural land, at an average altitude of 250 metres above sea level.
In addition to wines, they specialise in the production of a unique extra virgin olive oil, obtained by cold pressing olives harvested on the same day. Every bottle of Castelvecchio embodies the balance between nature, tradition and innovation. It is the story of a family that has been cultivating dreams, grapes and passions for fifty years, and is committed to honouring its territory in every single drop of wine and oil.
